Earlier this week we held our annual Remembrance Day event, with the whole school community coming together for a two-minute silence. This was observed impeccably by our students; they took the opportunity to pause and remember those whose lives have been lost in war or changed forever by the effects of conflict.
This was a poignant and moving event, but it was also hard; we know that many of our families are affected by wars taking place today. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones.
During the two-minute silence, we will have been thinking about different people, from different places and different times, but we were united as a school community.
We were united in showing respect to those affected by war, and to the people around us remembering those close to them.
We were united in displaying integrity - being true to ourselves and embodying strong moral principles.
We were united in acting with empathy - placing ourselves in the shoes of those who have made such great sacrifices in the past, or continue to do so today.
Please do speak to your child about this event, and thank them for contributing in a sensitive and mature manner.
