Rebecca Rothwell
Assistant Head i/c Post 16 Studies
I joined Hampstead School in May 2021, attracted by its diversity, inclusion and firm belief that every student can succeed.
Hampstead School is a special place. Students enjoy first-class teaching from dedicated professionals in a supportive, friendly environment. Every faculty area has a dedicated Key Stage 5 co-ordinator helping me to look after each and every Sixth Form student. Students have excellent working relationships with their teachers and achieve excellent results.
Our students leave Hampstead School ready to navigate the challenges of the world. They progress to a wide range of fantastic destinations, including both universities and apprenticeships. Students have regular contact with employers, complete work experience and can arrange to meet our independent careers adviser throughout their time in the Sixth Form.
Each school or college is very different and the decision of choosing a Sixth Form for yourself or your daughter or son is a significant one. We look forward to seeing you at our Open Evening in November.
If you have any questions or would like to ask me any questions, please contact enquiries@hampsteadschool.org.uk or call 0207 794 8133.
I look forward to meeting you.

I started my teaching career in 2013, working at a school in Berkshire for four years before joining Hampstead School in September 2017 as Subject Leader for Computing & IT. I joined the Sixth Form team in 2019 as one of the Sixth Form tutors. Since then, I have become one of the Heads of Year for the Sixth Form, supporting students in navigating the joys and challenges of Post-16 education.
Sixth Form is an exciting time in a student’s educational journey, a time when students can truly find their passion. Whether this is through discussions in lesson time or taking advantage of many exciting super-curricular activities that are offered, it is a time when students are really challenged and need to think outside the box, supporting them to become lifelong learners and experts in the fields they pursue when they leave us.
As a Sixth Form we strive to support students as they start this journey. We do this through employing a wide range of staff who are experts in the fields, building and maintaining connections with employers and keeping our curriculum current and relevant to our students' future careers.
My advice to students is don’t choose a subject just because you think you can get a job in the field. Choose a subject because you enjoy it. This will open up many more avenues for you in the future. If you are going to be working in a sector for your entire career, it should be something you love to do.
